    I have managed to edit just about everything i needed to in genesis. However I have tried all kinds of code to Display one Category of posts on a landing page. I want to do this so I can write a special series of articles on Hidden Idaho Treasures, and list them all in one place formatted the way I want. I have found several snippets of code to do this, however none of them work with genesis. I finally found this little piece of code below.

    remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' );
    add_action( 'genesis_loop', 'wpsites_custom_loop' );
    function customblog_do_loop() {
    $args = array ( 'cat' => 804, 'order' => 'ASC' );
    genesis_custom_loop( $args );
    }

    However, it is not working.

    I am using genesis with the magazine-pro theme, i have copied the landing page and have edited it with a special menu bar, and header. I have also removed the page title with a line of code.

    Thank you,

    culling

    The easiest way I've found to filter specific posts on a page is to use a custom field.

    Custom field name: query_args
    Value: cat=# where # is the id number of the post category.

    Both the Featured Authors and Featured Books menu items on my publishing site http://fontlifepublications.com/ use this technique to filter posts. No special coding necessary. Just use the standard blog template for the page.

    @culling,

    try changing your add_action call to this: add_action( 'genesis_loop', 'customblog_do_loop' );

    In your snippet, the function you have has a different name than the one you are calling. If the function is never called, it won't execute.

    Thank you very much that worked like a charm. I really appreciate all your help! Now i just need to figure out how to display the post titles but not the page titles. Back to work!
