    I have a menu that I've used CSS and nth child selectors to make appear in columns over the slider on the home page. It works great - until IE 8 shows up and ruins the party. I keep reading that I should be able to fix this with java or something, but how to actually do that seems to be beyond me. I'm pretty good with CSS and okay with modifying PHP, but clueless on dealing with javascript. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Note that this is for the big blue bar menu under the slider.
