Apologize up front for the low level of understanding around the News child theme, but I am having some issues changing anything on the Home page.

Nothing I currently do in the widget part of the dashboard changes anything on the home page.

I'm thinking this is a simple issue as no one else seems to have this problem, but I've spent hours going around in circles and have decided to ask for some help on this.

My site is http://www.treasuryinteractive.com - I have only just started with it so there is nothing there really. I'm just trying to get the site  looking like the demo and then will learn to adjust things from there.

Any assistance would be really appreciated.

    Thanks, Sam

    Hi Sam,

I'm not a moderator at all, but I helped a friend just a tiny bit on this child theme. What are you trying to change?

Try clicking on the Genesis tab on the left hand side, go into Theme Settings and change a few things to your liking and see if that works. I would also go to the Old Forum posts for News and check out the sticky's at the top of the forum.

    Hope that's a start...

    Hi Callie,

    Thanks for you reply.

My main problem is that I just can't seem to get the home page (main page for the site), to look anything like the demo site (which is my goal at this stage).

Whenever I change anything in the widgets section for the home page nothing happens. So my thinking is that there is a linking problem between which page is showing and the page the widgets are link to.

The page currently showing when you land on the home (main) page changes when I adjust 'Blog Page' under the Genesis tab. That's fine but I want to adjust this page to look like the demo which is done in the 'Widgets' section from what I can gather.

This has to be simple and I must be missing something minor, but I just can't figure it out at this stage.

    Thanks for you help

Can I please request some assistance with the home page on my site. I have look through tutorials and information on the web for a few days now and have not been able to identify any assistance on my problem.

I just can not seem to get my home page to change when I make adjustments to the widgets under the appearance tab.

What am I doing wrong here??

    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I have though already gone through those tutorials a couple of times. I understand them and have gone through and done exactly what they advise.

I adjust the widgets but nothing changes on the home page.

Am I missing a page? The only page that shows as my home page is what I select under the 'Blog Page' section under the Genesis Tab. Can I create another page and set that up as my main page? Then adjust it through the widgets section?

    Thanks, Sam

Go to Settings --> Reading --> and make sure you do NOT have a STATIC page selection. The top button for Blogs should be the one selected.

Wow, thank you so much. I knew it had to be as easy as that, but I just could not figure it out!

    Appreciate it.

    Cheers
