The Google conversion tracking code I paste into my Thank-you page does not publish correctly. I have tried this several times so I'm 100% certain something is causing the code I paste into the Edit Page - Text screen to change it in the page update process.

Specifically the following line of code is being changed.

    From this: /* ]]> */

    To This: /* ]]> */

The ">" after the ]] is changed to ">"

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?

Is there a manual way to insert this code into the page without using the WSIWG page editor?

Hope someone can help me on this quickly as I cannot get the Google conversion tracking functionality working until this is resolved, and we are kicking off a big AdWords campaign for the site this weekend.

Many thanks in advance on this one.

You need to wrap the code using the CODE function in the Text editor. You can see the word CODE when you reply to this message. Open yours - click the CODE button - paste in your code then click the CODE button again so it CLOSES OFF the code. When you Toggle back and forth between Visual and Text - sometimes you will get what you got. So try CODE and see if that helps.

Yes using the CODE button to wrap the java scrip seems to work. At least I hope it does.

I publish the page again after wrapping the script as you suggest.  Then I examined the source code it now publishes correctly.

Then when I examine the page using the "Google Tag Assistant" extension in Chrome's browser It verifies the script is working.

But it does give me a warning that the script is "missing CData content" so I'm not sure why this warning is still there.

I thought this warning was happening because of the initial problem I posted about, which you now have taught me how to resolve.

At this point I'm going to look at this issue as resolved.

I think I'm just going to have to let the AdWords campaign gather some contact-us conversions and see if AdWords tracks them correctly.

    Thanks greatly for your help.

I am not familiar with the Google Tag Assistant. You're welcome. I will close this now.
