My current site is only 960px wide (as far as I can tell) and I am looking for a wider theme to better show off my photography:
Any suggestions for a responsive / html 5 theme that I can use for a "similar" layout to my homepage?
And ideally how wide should a site be nowadays?
The main widget areas / widgets I am using on the home page are:
-> Home Slider (has the Genesis Responsive Slider and a text widget in it)
-> Home Left, Home Middle, and Home Right (each one has just a simple text widget in it)
So I would like to find a theme with these widget areas built into it.
Since I have the license to the Agency theme (my current site is using the older Agency 2), does anyone know if Agency 3 has those particular widget areas and is easy to remove the parallax image and colors? (I can do css but I am slow at it).http://www.marinhomephotography.com
Imagely, the makers of Nextgen Gallery, have just launched a new line of photography focused Genesis child themes: https://www.imagely.com/wordpress-photography-themes/
For the widget areas, there is really no need to have separate left, middle, right widget areas if you are only showing text.
You can use the built-in column classes.
Thank you for the suggestions. I shall look into the themes.
Are you familiar with the plugins they have? Are they worth getting too?
I forgot all about column classes... :-/
From what I hear, Nextgen Gallery has improved quite a bit.
It might make sense if you have to deal with a lot of images.
I tend to use Envira Gallery
