I need help fixing the alignment on the primary nav, search box and header. No matter what I do, I cannot get the CSS to ONLY affect the primary nav & search box. if I change the CSS for the primary, it changes the secondary nav as well, even though I've separated it in the stylesheet.
I need both nav bars and the search box to be centered (top & bottom) on the background graphic.

Help?
March 7, 2013 at 10:50 pm #24934ShanGMemberCan anyone help me? It's been two days with no response to this thread/topic.
Not getting the menus & search box aligned correctly is driving me batty.
March 8, 2013 at 2:49 am #24959ShanGMemberI feel like I'm talking to myself here...
I have managed to center the menu bars to to bottom, but that has created new issues. I still cannot get the search bar in the primary menu bar to align where I want it to.
(I submitted a help/support ticked for this same issue almost 3 days ago & still have no response and no way to check for one via My StudioPress, either. The old forum got us a much quicker response. Just sayin')
March 8, 2013 at 7:44 am #24976frobnMemberPart of the problem is the top menu list search is floated right. Change the css in .menu li.right then align the top menu to center.
March 8, 2013 at 8:16 am #24982cdilsParticipantHi Shan,
When you reply to your own topic it bumps that topic out of the "Topics with no replies" list (http://www.studiopress.community/view/no-replies), which makes it harder for forum volunteers to locate and respond to.
When you submitted a support ticket, did you get an immediate auto-response? If not, something may have gone awry with the submission. If that's the case, let me know so I can provide that feedback to the StudioPress folks.
Cheers,
Carrie
p.s. Sorry I don't know about centering the menus!
Have you been helped in this forum? Pay it forward and answer someone else’s question. I bet you’ll know the answer to at least one question. 🙂
I host a weekly WordPress-focused podcast called Office Hours. I tweet @cdils.
March 8, 2013 at 8:15 pm #25125ShanGMember@frobn - The only thing I'm concerned about in the primary menu is the search bar not taking any CSS for alignment. I need both menus to center top-bottom within the graphic background behind it, NOT centered left to right.
@cdils (Carrie) - I did not get an immediate auto-response when I submitted my ticket. And yes, copyblogger.com is whitelisted with gmail & my domain emails.
But my issue still persists:
Why doesn't separating the CSS for each menu make them take code separately? How do I get the search box in the primary nav to move so it's in line with the rest of the menu bar?
Why can I not make the hover for the menu items work and why when I change the height of the hover menu items does it do nothing?
I have never used the Quattro theme before, but it should work just like most of the other Genesis child themes, correct?
March 10, 2013 at 2:43 am #25277ShanGMemberI did what you suggested, @frobn, but it did not change anything about the top to bottom alignment of the search box. I ried everything. It will not move top or bottom, however, it will mess up the alignment of the secondary nav.
Help? Anyone?
March 10, 2013 at 6:52 pm #25360Robert NeuMemberShan,
You've got some major issues with your CSS on this. I can fix it, but it would be difficult to go through all the changes one-by-one.
Would you feel comfortable giving me access to your site temporarily?
March 10, 2013 at 7:15 pm #25365eightcrazyMemberI think I have a similar issue. Â My non active menu items are dropping down as well...until it gets to a responsive width. Â That's what yours does too.
But I'm using the Outreach theme, not Quattro. Â I haven't figured it out yet either. Â So I'd be curious to know what you come up with.
March 10, 2013 at 7:26 pm #25371Robert NeuMemberAlright, I think I've caught the majority of the problems and put them here:
https://gist.github.com/fatmedia/5131287
You can click the revisions link to see what I changed.
There's definitely still some issues with your CSS. I also may have missed some stuff when copying the styles over. It's difficult to do without being able to refresh to check, but this should at least get you started.
If you still have trouble, I'd be happy to give you a hand cleaning the rest of it up if you can provide me with access.
March 10, 2013 at 7:35 pm #25375Robert NeuMembereightcrazy - I'm not sure if this is what you mean or not but if you're talking about the menu breaking as the site scales, a quick fix would be to do something like this:

March 10, 2013 at 7:52 pm #25380eightcrazyMemberahhh...  this seems to be the answer  http://www.studiopress.community/topic/modern-portfolio-menu-link-position/

March 13, 2013 at 12:12 am #25791ShanGMember@FAT Media YES! PLEASE help me. LOL
I am just now seeing these responses as, I am not getting these email replies. GRRR.
Should I message you the logins? I can make you your own if you give me your email addy.
Oh and I just found a new issue: the menus are all FUBARED on Chrome. Here is a screenshot: http://skeweddesignstudios.com/thisisatest/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/nav-bar.png
March 14, 2013 at 2:02 pm #26398ShanGMember@FAT Media I gave your CSS a shot and it did this:
http://skeweddesignstudios.com/thisisatest/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/CL-Align-left.png
While the menus and search box are aligned perfectly, the whole blog is aligned left. LOL
I got into a fight with a metal security screen door & concrete this morning, so I'm in no position to compare CSS files right now. My pain killers are making me loopy. LOL
Any suggestions?
PS: How do we Pm people on this new forum?
