Need help correcting Nav Menu Display

I am new to Genesis themes. We are several of the child themes out but have seen a recurrent problem.

The theme we are currenting testing is "Executive Pro" see url below. The problem is that the nav menu appears horizontal and not vertical as in the demo.

How can I fix this please?

    Hi,
I hope you enjoy using Genesis. The demo of Executive is slightly non-traditional. Instead of using the menu in the typical place, you actually put it in the header.

Appearance... Widgets. In the center, find Custom Menu and drag it into the Header Right area on the right. Then in the widget, choose your menu to display. If you get that looking good, you also may want to go to Appearance... Menus and de-select any menus you've chosen there. I would not be surprised if much of this is in the information that you can find in the documentation part of your theme download area.

Also, it looks like you've chosen a static homepage for "Home". This will disable any widgets that have to do with the homepage - this is how modern themes are normally set up, and it takes getting used to for those who do the old-school static homepage, although you can certainly do that if you want, it just looks way different from the demo.

    Cheers, Dave
