Modify the translation file

Hi, I am working with the theme beautiful for a Brazilian client, I have carried out for the Portuguese translation, but I want to change the sentence Leave a Comment, which in Portuguese says "Deixe uma resposta" for "Deixe um comentário", I reviewed .po files but can not find this phrase, could you help me telling in which file is this phrase?

Hi,
The site looks like it is in one language only, Brazilian.
So I will advise you to use the plugins Codestyle Localization and Codestyle Localization Preserver for all your modifications to language files. That way they are upgrade safe.
The line of text you want to edit is probably in the Genesis Framework Translation or the WordPress translation.
Either way, the search function in Codestyle Localization makes it easy to find.

I tried with the Codestyle Localization plugin but that line of text it doesn't appears, do you know another way to investigate that?

Hi Moni,

there is one (1) instance of "Leave a Comment" in the Genesis Framework.
there is one (1) instance of "Leave a Comment" in WordPress.
It is not in the Beautiful Pro child theme.

The search function in Codestyle Localization is case-sensitive.

I find the line with the search tool and these are the results:

- In WordPress. I find the line and I changed it, I saved but it doesn't appears this change in the website, look this screenshot:

Hi Moni,
after saving the translation of a string you have to generate the .mo file.
I the first screenshot I can see the button is called "Gerar Arquivo .mo".
Pressing that button writes the changes you make to the translation file to the .mo file that WordPress reads.

Have you synchronized the Genesis theme with the Child theme?
In the last screenshot of yours there is a button by the childtheme called "Sincronizar arquivos com tema pai"
Pressing that button synchonizes the Genesis language file with the childtheme language file.

I don't know if you have this installed, but the Genesis Translation plugin could be of use to you. The plugin loads the Genesis translation according to the language defined in the wp-config.php file.

You should also be aware that some themes has more than one textdomain...!
And remember to flush your cache if you use a cache plugin.

This proces shold work for you?
Install the Genesis Translation plugin.
Set WordPress Language to Brazillian.
Open Codestyle Localization.
Click the button "Sincronizar arquivos com tema pai"
Rescan the childtheme "Adicionar Idioma"
Make your changes to the childtheme translation file.
Press the button "Gerar Arquivo .mo".
Reload the frontend. The changes should kick in.
