    I want to move the nav menu to just before </header>

    The default repositioning for this theme is:

    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav', 15 );

    But I am not sure how to code the position. Can anybody help?

    add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );

    Try that.

    You can change the hook position and use the 3rd parameter for positioning.

    Thanks Brad but that puts it above the header. I want it just before the closing tag of header, so it is nestled with the header div, ie after <header class="site-header"> and just before </div>

    Unless there is another way to do what I want! I am trying to have the header and primary nav in a group that is fixed. At the moment the header only is fixed with the nav displaying below it. You can see what I have done so far at: http://fuerteventura.babrees.co.uk/?p=1 I simply want the nav bar fixed as well.

    Did you try

    position: fixed;

    for the nav menu?

    Or

    You could add the custom menu widget to header right widget area and display it inline with the search box.

    Yes, I did try position fixed for the nav menu. Of course that messed up the design and I just thought it would be easier to put it within the header div instead of juggling about with the .css, including the mobile bit of .css! I was obviously wrong <G>

    Custom menu in header is not on as I have a search bar there.

    I guess I'll have to have a play around with the .css and see if I can get it fixed in the right position for all devices!

    Try this http://wpsites.net/web-design/how-to-make-your-nav-menu-sticky/

    Use the 2nd snippet and add

    padding-top: 110px;

    to the rule. Tested and works.

    Thanks Brad. I actually gave it a margin-top and the mobile bit was easier than I thought; I only had to adjust the widest of the media queries 😀

    Interesting, i tried margin-top which didn't work for me. Glad you got it sorted.
