I know the title is a bit shocking but that is what I think is the case so far with this new theme. Primarily this has to do with the myraid of problems with the background photo on the home page. This WAS one of the real attractions of this theme. But now it is an impossible monster to deal with. Before it was a beauty to behold. Now, it is almost impossible to figure out how to get a photo to look good in this space. I truly TRULY hope that this will get fixed quickly. If you have the present Minimum Theme installed DO NOT upgrade (?) to the Pro version.

What's wrong with your image? It looks to me like you've got a really vivid image and it looks sharp. What do you think is wrong or what do you want to change?
It's fairly straightforward to get an image to look good in the space. For one, start with an image that is 1600 px wide X 1050 px high.

The image you see is exactly 1600 X 1050. The problem is that once uploaded only a very small portion of the photo ends up being visible on the front page. I have struggled and struggled to find photos that actually end up having something worth seeing. Let me change the photo to something else. The photo dimensions will stay the same. You will see the problem more clearly. It is just unacceptable to be expected to search and search for a photo that the theme happens to crop so that it looks half decent.
I saw the image that was there earlier and see the changed image.

Do you mean that presently at http://realasiamyu.com you see the entire bridge and not just the roof? The original photo is here http://thebraganzadowry.com/wp-content/gallery/hoi-an/hoi-an-japanese-bridge-1.jpg. (I have resized it, of course, to 1600 x 1050). Do you really see this or at least most of it? If so, the problems are very different than I expected.Yes, I see major upper part of the image (as tall as the one in the theme demo site), not just the roof.

In which OS/browser are you facing the problem?
Very strange indeed. I get the same thing in all 3 of the major browsers (Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.)
But when I check things out on my MacBook Pro Retina model things look much as in your photo. So is this a problem with my computer that spans different browsers. Very odd.
Your current image (with the "river tour" boat) looks pretty, but the image is WAY too big. The image dimensions are 4134 x 1656 px. Do you regularly bump into visitors who have displays that are 4134 px wide? It's over 2 Mb in size. It causes your site to take forever to load and will be a real traffic-stopper. In addition to finding a pretty image, you need to pay attention to those details.

Thanks. I was well aware of the photo size. Actually, it is precisely because I pay attention to details that I have been complaining. The Minimum Pro child theme does have some problems with the way it handles the homepage background image. I expect the good folks at Copyblogger to attend to it and bring back the beauty of its predecessor.
The image is not a featured image, that seems to be the confusion.
It is a background image with a parallax scrolling effect that resizes on multiple browsers and screen sizes. Some people are having issues because of misunderstanding the design intent.
It is not intended to be a fixed image at a specific size.
Having said that, we are indeed looking at offering options for people who do not like this effect.

@Andrea: I don't think we are confused about the design intent. That's very clear. We are confused about "why" that's the design intent: it seems to greatly limit the usefulness of a great theme. There are so many images you can't use with this kind of effect. Frankly, a very bad design decision. (Sorry, but that's how I see it.) On the other hand, a design that allowed either the parallax effect OR a fixed image would be perfectly fine. There are certainly times when the intended effect is quite nice and useful. In my own work, however, it would be a small percentage of the time when it's a preferred effect over a fixed-but-responsive image.
i also have problems with the "background/featured" image.
why background? why not an image of the exact size of the area showed in the home page like the previous version?
why it has to be a full size image?
i don't understand this decision..it's not easy to find a image that works well with this new homepage/background/whatever
