Hi. I've racked my brain and broken my site like 100 times (literally) trying to figure this out. I've tried following steps outlined on http://www.carriedils.com/add-slider-minimum-theme/ but the slider is under the tagline and I want it above it. I also tried following the steps outline here http://www.studiopress.community/topic/minimum-pro-homepage-slideshow/ and I'm still lost.

My site is http://herbagstudio.com/ and you'll notice the slider below the tagline when I want it where the featured image would be like in this site http://themes.imageperceptions.com/mpro4/

    Thanks in advance 🙂

The easiest way to do this is simply to hook in a new slider. No need to modify or remove any code whatsoever.

    And this is the result:

    minpro home

Please copy the code from the view raw link and paste it before the PHP code for the Tagline in your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++

The above code only works when you have installed and configured the Easing Slider Pro version.

You can use any other slider like the free version of Easing Slider, Soliloquy or any other quality plugin.

That image of mine is certainly making the rounds! 🙂

Here's another alternative to creating a typical slide show like the one mentioned earlier:

Thanks to the suggestion from Brad Dalton yesterday, using Easy Backstretch plugin, you don't have to modify any PHP. Maybe just the css if you want the transparent effect. It wouldn't be perfect for every site, but with the right images I think it can be pretty nice - and no PHP modification.

I have to give credit to Bradly Potter credit for this concept. Brian Gardner showed me his site which obviously gave me the idea...

Love this theme! Thanks again Brad for the tip on the Easy Backstretch plugin.

What is the Backstretch Element DIV used in the Easy Backstretch plugin settings?

I think most of them are 1800x600. They're images I use from my photography site and that's the size I usually go with for full width slideshows. A different ratio might be better for the backstretch setup.
