I'm installing Magazine Pro on my WP site. I'm hosted by WPEngine.

I've set up the new theme in the staging area. But I can't seem to deploy things correctly when I try to move from staging to live. When I review the live site after deployment, the theme remains Thesis, my old theme.

I thought from WPEngine's instructions that a theme migration didn't need to deploy tables when moving from staging to live. Is this wrong?

Is there anything I'm doing wrong that I should change?

Sounds like a caching issue. A theme by itself can be copied to a new site. If you have content widgets in the new theme that weren't in the old theme, those details are stored in the database. You either have to recreate the widgets on the new site or migrate the data.
