    Every page on his site shows microdata below posts/pages. On Premise pages it shows up twice.

    I'm not up to speed yet on microdata (though it's on my list).

    First, should it be visible on site?

    Second, if not, then how to I hide it? I don't see a way in the code that I can hide it with CSS.

    The microdata shouldn't be visible - what method did you use to add it to the site?

    I just noticed you're using the News child theme - have you converted it to HTML5? If not, schema markup won't function correctly.

    So am I understanding this correctly?...

    To make News work correctly with Genesis 2.0 (and microdata schema) I need to convert the child theme to HTML5 - which basically means a bunch of CSS work (after adding add_theme_support('hmtl5'); to functions.php)?

    Second question - since News isn't using HTML5 out of the box, then why is it pulling the schema code at all?

    I've made no HTML5 modifications to functions.php (yet).

    Is there a way to 'turn off' schema until I have the time to modify News for HTML5?

    That's correct - you would also likely need to alter functions.php since the HTML5 hooks are different from previous Genesis hooks.

    It looks like Premise is adding the microdata; if you edit the landing page, do you see "Free MSP eBook by Richard Tubb" entered anywhere? I'm not able to replicate it on my end; I would also check all Premise settings and make sure it's the latest version (2.5.3).

    Thanks. Figured something with Premise as well.

    Is there a way to simply 'deactivate' schema for now?

    If not, can I just go back to Genesis 1.9 without any problems?

    Well, that's the thing - I can't figure out why Premise is doing that. I just made a landing page on a test site running an XHTML child theme, and I'm not getting that output at the bottom of my pages. This might be a case for the Premise support team; I haven't seen this before.

    When I ask about deactivating schema, I'm not just talking about in Premise. I'm thinking turning it off period - across the entire Genesis theme - at least temporarily.

    I understand that, but that's exactly my point - XHTML child themes don't have schema.org markup enabled. So this shouldn't be happening unless a plugin or add-on is trying to activate it.

    Ah...I get it. So perhaps it's Premise that's causing this in the first place. I'll get with them and ask. Be back either with more questions or an answer from the Premise folks so we can close this thread.

    Turns out it was a plugin called In Depth Articles Generator.

    It uses schema. It just didn't show it before Genesis 2. Probably something with Genesis 2 and the plugin's code that caused this hiccup.

    Thanks for your time on this.

    BTW, Nick over at Premise told me that Premise doesn't load the main theme when using their landing pages. Maybe you knew, this? But if not, thought I'd share.
