Make Home – Middle widget two columns

I am using the Magazine Pro child theme with the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin.

I want to make the 'Home - Middle' widget have two columns, but on my site its only showing as one column.

The theme documentation looks like it should have two columns:

Any idea how I can rectify this? Not sure if it is being caused by the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin or not?

Hello Joe

Daily Dish Pro or Magazine Pro.

Magazine Pro uses the Genesis Featured Posts widget which is coded with CSS to display 2 widgets in line.

Problem is I want to display custom post types in the widget, and I don't think that can be done using the default widget.

What you can do is create your own custom featured posts widget which includes your custom post type.

Another option is to use the recent posts widget which does include a filter to add custom post types but then you lose the widget options including featured image.

Thanks Brad, I've taken a look at your tutorial on creating a custom widget but adding the ability to display posts that are a custom post type is beyond me!

On the recent posts widget I can't see a way to select a custom post type - all I see is title and number of posts to show.

I'll have a look around and see if I can find anything else.

The Recent posts widget enables you to filter the output and add a CPT as you can see in the 2nd code snippet. Simply change portfolio to games and paste the code in your functions file.

Hello. I´m also using Magazine and my Home Middle doesn´t work either. I just started to work with the site so I ´don´t have any plugins which will disturb. Is there a bug in the theme??
