I've been using Magazine Pro theme for years and decided that I wanted to update the front page for a different look. Not the widgeted page that's standard for the theme. I created a static page, and I've tried to set it as the home page in both the Settings menu and in the Customizer. Neither one seems to work. Is there code that needs to be changed in order for me to do this?

The new static page is: https://juliesmithcoaching.com/home/

    Thanks!

I resolved this issue. Looked at the front-page.php file and saw the following: Add widget support for homepage. If no widgets active, display the default loop.

I simply removed the content from the home page widget areas and that fixed my issue. Hope this helps someone else in the future!
