Hi all. I appreciate your attempt to assist me!

I did an upgrade from Magazine to Magazine Pro as well as the update to the latest Genesis a while back. Somewhere in all these upgrades the widget called "Genesis - Featured Posts" became replaced with "Genesis - Featured Widget Amplified". I'm not understanding what is amplified about it as it took away the feature to make the Featured Posts fit into 2 columns on the Home page.

I have tried 3 of the solutions already posted in this forum and I could not access the fourth on an outside webpage. The three solutions were fairly simple changes to CSS. I followed those postings and it did not affect my Middle Widget at all. I believe the solutions were from mid-2014, so I don't know if something has changed since then. As a note, the CSS changes didn't show in Firebug either.

Also, it should be noted that the Genesis Help Files are out of date and shows that 2 columns magically appear in the Middle Home Widget section by using Genesis Featured Posts (which is no longer available).

Can someone (specifically) explain how to make the Home Middle Widget area 2 columns using the "Genesis - Featured Widget Amplified"?

Thanks for suggestions! (note: I have included my url, but I do not have any widgets in the home-middle, as it looks terrible when I do)

    It didn't get replaced.
    You installed this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-featured-widget-amplified/
    which replaced it.

Try deactivating the plugin and see if that solves your problem.

    Hi Christoph!
You are correct. I deactivated the "amplified" widget and the "Genesis - Featured Post" widget re-appeared. First step worked!

Now, I have the "Genesis - Featured Post" widget but there is no longer an option for "number of columns" (which used to be an option once upon a time).

Here is the screen shot of the Magazine Demo that shows the two columns in the middle: http://demo.studiopress.com/magazine/ and the instructions (which mentions the 2 columns, but the screen shot of the widget is what I now have, there isn't a column option) http://my.studiopress.com/setup/magazine-theme/

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Hmmm.... that's not happening for me.

I see the CSS that should do it, but it's not. I must have changed some other CSS along the way somewhere that keeps this from working.....

Yep, I had changed something. I put the entire original CSS for "Featured Content" back in and it worked!

Thank you for sticking with me here Christoph. You got me in the right place!
