I have used Magazine Pro Theme for some time and needed to do a fresh install on a fresh install of WP on a new domain. The documentation on StudioPress, regarding setting up the home page, does not reflect the current back end of a fresh install. Their documentation has different menus, icons, different layout. I think it is out to date. Can someone point me to more up-to-date documentation, screenshots that make sense, to latest versions, maybe even point me to third party video, or article how to set it up? I have AB plugin installed. NOTE I can not use a preinstalled demo version, must be able to duplicate it, not use a one-click demo install.

Sadly I think StudioPress should have kept it a simple widget way versus bringing in a third party plugin, more moving parts means more things can break.

I need to fix this before Monday and any info would be helpful.

    It's 1 click setup now.

If you do 1 click step do you loose any info, such as menu layouts, or other foot widget info that is already in place? Does it import demo posts and pages...... The documentation says you don't need to do the 1 click setup and shows step by step info how to make it look like the demo. Is this not an option at all anymore? Versus having extras not needed imported in bloating WP

I got my answer, yes one-click setup does mess with your upper menu and footer 3 widgets

You can download the original copy before the updated 1 click version. It should be in your StudioPress account.

If you use the new version, you'll need to copy over any custom code you added as well.

I just did a fresh install of Magazine New Pro plus the content package. My home page does look like the demo but nowhere can I find the settings for the home - top home - middle and home - bottom widgets. I've looked in the Widgets dashboard and on the customization home page. How do I get to it? I want to make some changes.

@eatdrinkdeals can you provide a link to the site. The newest version of Magazine Pro does not use widgets on the home page, it has been changed to "blocks". If you would like to use the "widgetized" version you will need to revert back to the pre-block version.

Thanks, I'll try to work with blocks, just one elemental question: how do I select which posts are Featured Spotlight and Explore? The featured post seems to be the one with the most recent published date, which works for me. But I can't figure out how to put posts into Spotlight and Explore.

@eatdrinkdeals I would suggest reviewing the theme documentation on how to set that up especially since it provide screen shots.
