I read a recent post (http://www.studiopress.community/topic/wordpress-lms-e-learning-plugins/) where Moodle and competitor plugins were mentioned.  I am about to create a new site where I plan on including learning materials.  I am only in the planning and design stage and the site does not exist. I was thinking of using Premise and simply creating a member area.  Although I like the idea where a member can track their own progress.  The previous post mentioned a couple options.

I will provide the ability to register for free.  After a user goes through some of the content they will be able to join the site (for an annual fee).  I want to arrange the content in a progressive manner, and would like the users to track their progress.

The previous post mentioned a few options.  I like that Woo has now made Sensei available, but can I integrate this with my StudioPress themes?  Also, what other options would you recommend?

    Thanks, Scott

I tested Sensei for a bit. The templates do not work out of the box with the Genesis Themes (I tried Metro and an adapted Sleek) but in both themes the sidebars ended up being displayed inside the content div on the Sensei pages...

Maybe someone knows how to fix that? I had a quick look but could not figure out where it went wrong.. But I think I saw some html5 specific code which probably does not make it easier  to convert to Genesis.

I was a bit disappointed since the Woo guys claim it will work with any theme... and I though I would be able to set it up quickly 🙁

Thanks for the input.  I wondered if that would be the case.  And_or, have you tried anything with which you were happy to deliver learning content?  I'm now wondering about creating a member area and then placing content there.

    Thank so much

I am in the process of checking out the various options...  Picked up a copy of Premise in the Valentijn Sale, want to see how that adds in... First glance there are a lot off thing that are already present in Genesis (SEO and such)
I'll try to remember to post what we finally went for with the site I am doing this for...

Thanks for the comments.  I was also thinking about the Premise sale, but I think my main needs would be for the digital sales and member areas.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Bought Premise on sale, particularly for digital sales and members areas.  Trudging through the learning curve, tutorials are not so helpful and tech support is probably overwhelmed by the huge number of purchases, so still haven't had all of my questions answered.

The one disappointing discovery is that Premise isn't responsive, though hoping the Genesis Responsive Header plugin will help that out.

    Hi there,

As the founder of LearnDash, I am obviously a bit biased, but LearnDash is a WordPress-based LMS that works with the Genesis theme and is responsive. The subscription-based LMS feature is currently under works and while I can't say too much on it, I can say it will be out shortly! I know it's a feature that's been requested a lot, so we're pretty excited about it. For the full list of our LearnDash features you should look at our site: http://www.LearnDash.com

Let me know if I can answer any questions, or if you'd just like to discuss your project a bit further!

Best of Luck in your search,

    Justin,

Thanks very much for the comments.  Please don't worry about the plug.  I've spent a little time on your site, read some reviews and have been impressed.  I would like to hear more.  Should I submit a request though the Questions? link, or you can contact me directly at [email protected] and we can talk more specifically about my specific situation.

    Thanks, Scott
