Landing Page menus are not wanted

Hello,

I am using the Magazine Pro theme.

On my landing page the primary and secondary menus are appearing. I would prefer no menus whatsoever on this page located at: tibesar.com

Is there a way to prevent these menus from appearing on my home page (which is a landing type page)?

Not exactly. it's the default or home page, but a landing page is actually something else.

What (I think) you want is to offer nothing except to logged-in users.

The easiest way is by using a plugin: try Login Configurator. I can't vouch for this plugin beyond saying I've seen it work, and that it offers some flexibility, such as:

• > Force users to log in to the site.
• > Can also protect your feed URL.
• > Set a default redirect URL when they log in.
• > Add a message box with title to the login form.
• > more ...

Another way to achieve this is to change your code:

You've probably already done steps 1 and 2;

1. Create a page using the template "Landing". This page should contain only your login form and anything you want to display to the public. Also choose the layout "full width content".
2. Go to Settings > Reading > Front page displays: Change this to point to the new page you just made.

Thank you very much Tom for the great suggestions.

I want to use my barebones Landing Page (that forces family members to login) and then, redirect to the custom Magazine Pro home page.

However, my problem is this:

What is the URL of the Magazine Pro's "home" page (the page that has the Home Top/Home Middle and Home Bottom widgets on it) please???

If you installed WordPress in the root of your site, the URL of your home page should be http://tibesar.com/. From looking at your page, this is what you have done.

By default the home page will be your blog (See your admin area Reading > Settings: Front page displays > latest posts).

Once you add some content to a home page widget area (Header Right; Home Top/Middle/Bottom; Footer 1/2/3), the theme will make this widgetized page your home page. You will now find your blog at http://tibesar.com/templates/blog/.

Issue #1:

I installed WordPress in the root of the site and, yes my home page is tibesar.com (and yes, it is my blog).

However, the URL in the address bar reads 'http://tibesar.com' not 'http://tibesar.com/blog'

If I try to go to http://tibesar.com/blog/ I get a 404 Page Not Found Error. Is that correct behavior?

Issue #2:

Next, when I populate the Home Top/Middle and Bottom widget areas,,, the very nice magazine styled home page appears.

However the URL in the address bar still reads 'http://tibesar.com' not 'http://tibesar.com/templates/blog'

If I try to go to http://tibesar.com/templates/blog/ I also get a 404 Page Not Found Error

So, if I redirect to http://tibesar.com/templates/blog/ won't my family members get a 404 Page Not Found Error once they login?

Once you populate one or more home page widget areas this 'widgetized' page becomes your true 'home page', i.e. the place where all visitors land when using your base URL, ‘http://tibesar.com‘ . This is expected behaviour. The address bar will read ‘http://tibesar.com‘ because that's the page you are on - you are not reading the blog portion of your site.

Your blog should be accessible from 'http://tibesar.com/blog/', which should redirect to 'http://tibesar.com/templates/blog/'. This follows the behaviour at http://demo.studiopress.com/magazine/blog

If you have not yet made any blog posts (not just pages), you will get a 404 Page Not Found Error.
