I'm using the Creative Burst theme and emailed the designer for help at the beginning of the week, but I wondered if there was something really simple that I'm getting wrong with my home page and Genesis?

When using http://www.gillianlewisspectrum.co.uk, I land on the page that I want to see using the Creative Burst theme - but this is not http://www.gillianlewisspectrum.co.uk/home which is completely blank.

Originally I set up the site with a static home page but found all of the landing page stuff I liked was on the blog page. So I played around with the settings and deleted off the original home page to see whether that would resolve things - and now when I've recreated a home page, it's blank.

I can delete off the home page again and just have users click the banner to see the landing page I want them to see - but I can't help thinking that users will expect to have a home button to navigate.

    Help would be appreciated ๐Ÿ˜€

    Greets,
I think I follow you there. Many try a static homepage, but find they like all the goodies that a modern tricked-out homepage will give them.

Your "home" page is indeed a Page. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I would suggest trying this. Since you don't need that Page, delete it. Then go to Appearance.... Menus, and be sure you're viewing the menu in question. I think your "Home" menu item should be gone now (if not, delete it).

Now over towards the left, you should see "Pages". Click "View All", and a Home should be visible somewhere in the list. Check it, and add it to your menu. It should be labeled "Custom" instead of "Pages", because it's not a Page. Drag it to where you want it, and Save. You should be all set.

    Cheers, Dave

    Gillian,
Great! You're welcome. It does take time getting used to these WordPress conventions, especially if one is used to having a static homepage, which I used to do myself.

    Cheers, Dave
