I would like to install WordPress and Genesis (and my Dynamik Builder child theme) locally so I can experiment without affecting a live blog. Can anyone point me to simple instructions that walk me through it? I run Windows XP, SP3.

Just wanted to ask, are you recommending both options (XAMPP/WAMP) and Instant WordPress. If so, why install both what is the thinking behind the recommendation. I have used XAMPP in the past for testing other CMS' and I just started using InstanWP, I'm wondering which is the better environment/option for WP development?
I've had a great experience using Instant WordPress to develop a new Genesis website, and then uploading the finished product to my c-panel at my online host.
