    In terms of physical size (i.e. pixels w x h), is there a best size to use when uploading images to a WordPress website? I'm not talking about hero images, which will vary depending on the theme, I'm referring to images that may be used throughout the site in pages or posts, some of which will be full width or may have a sidebar.

    Also, how does WordPress calculate the various default image sizes (full, large, medium, thumbnail)?
