To serve 404 through Apache, placed below code in .htaccess.

    ErrorDocument 404 /404.html

Still 404's are being served by WordPress/Genesis.

    Can anyone provide solution?

From a SEO perspective, you should not be serving 404 error pages. If you are, it indicates problems with your site. When your site produces a 404 error, you should be creating 301 redirects to existing pages. The more 404 errors you have, the less effective your site is for SEO.

As for changing htaccess, I suggest you Google for an answer. There are thousands of articles on the subject. Support specific Apache configurations is beyond the scope of the help we can provide as community volunteers.
