Hi, is there an easy way to rename wp-admin url in genesis?

so it is hard for hackers to guess this a  wordpress site?

I have seen one article somewhere on the web, but can't find it anymore. (and it was not speficic for genesis anyway)

it would be nice if this a feature in the genesis settings panel

    thanks

    Hi,
It does sound like a useful idea in principle. But the admin login is so basic to WP, a core functionality, and tied into so many processes and plugins that I'd say it could never become a regular feature to mess with this. There are so many ways this could go wrong - just thinking for a second, any custom permalinks setting could be broken, and any plugin that plays with links, any plugin that has something to do with logging in, or any kind of custom programmed mod_rewrite scenario.

But there are plenty of plugins that you can try to do that, like maybe this one. As I look at several of these plugins, the reviews make clear just how tricky it is to make this work.

I can think of other ways to do secure that, like limited access via IP and so on. Of course, just coming up with better log-in ID's and passwords could help. 🙂

    Good luck,
    Dave
