I admit to not being a developer, which is why I use WordPress. Although I'm dipping my toe in the water with code, I'm not willing to do it with a live site. This error message appears in the footer of this site https://www.genevalabs.com/

DEPRECATED: GENESIS_FOOTER_CREDS_TEXT IS DEPRECATED SINCE VERSION 3.1.0! USE GENESIS_PRE_GET_OPTION_FOOTER_TEXT INSTEAD. THIS FILTER IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED. YOU CAN NOW MODIFY YOUR FOOTER TEXT USING THE THEME SETTINGS. IN /DATA/VHOSTS/GENEVALABS.COM/HTTPDOCS/WP-INCLUDES/FUNCTIONS.PHP ON LINE 5234

Any direction on how to safely remove it and correct the issue behind the scenes would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I'm scared, but I'll be brave given some detailed instructions (and a backup!)

    Thanks!

Your theme has code for the footer that's been deprecated. What version of Genesis are you using. The theme looks to be outdated. But in the meantime, go to Genesis > Theme Settings > Footer. Remove any contents in the box and save it.

Thanks for your reply, Anita. I think I'm using Genesis 3.3.1. I'm not seeing a notification for an update. Using Executive Pro Theme and that's up-to-date, too.

I removed footer content and no change on the front side. 🙁

Somewhere in your theme you have a custom footer that's been edited to include your business name. Check your functions.php file or some other plugin that you may have used to modify the site credits.
