    I want to have a background on all links except on the class - .subpages-table (i.e. except on the table of images)

    I added:

    background-color: none !important;

    under this class but it still does not override the background. Any other way to do it?

    Thanks in advance!

    How did you add it?

    This is what I added to add the links:

    /** highlights links */
    .entry-content a {
    background-color: #ABCCE9;
    }

    This is what I added to override them on the table:

    /** styles links in autonav table */
    .subpages-table a {

    font-style: normal;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: none !important;
    padding: 30px;

    }

    Is the table a plugin?

    If so, install Genesis Style Trump http://www.carriedils.com/genesis-style-trump/

    Maybe the selector class is wrong.

    Have you tried:

    background-color: transparent;

    rather than "none" ?
