    Hello,

I'm running a multi author website and I want to prevent the authros to edit their bio and links to prevent commercial-style presentation, the bio is set upon creation of the author and it must not be edited by the author after. I could not find a plugin for this so I guess there is some very simple feature that I didnt find?

Who sets the Bio on creation of the author profile?

Hello, apparently I do, I create the author then I open his profile and type Bio, social links etc.. And I need to lock the settings from further edit.

You could use a custom author box and add a conditional so only the admin can add content.

I'm using the Fancier Author plugin which adds social links and company/position/link but it pulls the bio from default WP bio field. For the photo I'm using WP User Avatar. Where should I put the conditional? Also wouldn't be faster to hide/disable the profile.php for non admin users?

Yes, if you can remove the field for non admins, thats the best solution.

Need to find the code that adds it in WordPress core.

Hello, I don't think that forcing people to sign up to your website will improve your reputation, the question originated from Studiopress blog and you should post it in clear. Forcing people to sign up just to receive spam complaints from all your newsletter will not help.

This being said, are you sure that this solution will prevent smart users that open the profile edit page passing their user name as parameter?

    regards,
