    I am using Magazine child theme. It's header color is black in two shades. How I can change these two shades, say in lavender color (again two shades).

    Look for following code in style.css file

    /* Primary Navigation
    --------------------------------------------- */

    .nav-primary {
    	background-color: #222;
    	position: fixed;
    	width: 100%;
    	z-index: 999;
    }

    .nav-primary a {
    	color: #fff;
    }

    .nav-primary a:hover,
    .nav-primary .sub-menu a:hover,
    .nav-primary .genesis-nav-menu .current-menu-item > a {
    	color: #e8554e;
    }

    .nav-primary .genesis-nav-menu .sub-menu a {
    	background-color: #222;
    	border: 1px solid #fff;
    	border-top: none;
    }

    background-color: #222; is the background color and color: #fff; is the text color.
