Hi!

I have the Balance child theme. How do you create a new widget area on the homepage? And I'd like it to be full width.

Follow Brian Gardner's instructions here - http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/. You can use the Visual Hook Guide (http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/) to target where you want to place it if you don't want it at the top.
