    I'm using the genesis theme and someone very helpfully suggested that to create a widget area just under the header that I add the code below to the functions.php:

    add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'sp_after_post_widget' );
    function sp_after_post_widget() {
    genesis_widget_area( 'center-homepage', array(
    'before' => '<div class="after-post widget-area">',
    'after' => '</div>',
    ) );
    }

    This works but shows under the header on every page and post. Is there a way to have it only as a widget area on the home page? Another person mentioned to put it in homepage.php but the only options I see through the wordpress dashboard -> Editor is functions.php, output.php, customize.php, and page_landing.php.

    I tried it in page_landing.php but nothing happened.
