I am still trying to get a phone number on my website and after hours of searching I found an interesting idea on this website http://denmon.lawyer. I don't know how it was done but can someone enlighten me on how they got another text widget area about the nav bar? That looks to be an option for me if I can get it to work.

    Thanks!

If you examine their source code you can see that the phone # is in a text widget within the header area. Physically, the widget area is below the secondary nav. The widget has a width of 100%, but they split the area in two with column classes. They then used CSS to position the text above the secondary nav.

Create a menu and then click on the "Custom Link" button. For the URL, enter your phone number (no spaces, hyphens, etc.) after "tel:" for example: tel:1234567890. Next enter in the "Navigational Label" what you want to put on your site as the clickable word, for example: CALL NOW! or the phone # itself, etc. To place it at the top of your site, check the "Secondary Navigation Menu" at the bottom of the menu page.

So can anyone suggest an easy way to get a phone number and some text in the header area of my site?

You might try checking out the Genesis Club Lite plugin, it has a top bar module that would do what you want:
