    Hey folks -
    I'd like to have some horizontal sliders or displays of "recent posts" and some pages, but for some reason I'm having trouble with plugins. Any recommendations?
    I'm using Parallax Pro.

    I've tried some plug ins that require shortcode, and for some reason I can't get these shortcodes to work at all (in text boxes, or in a page); I've used shortcodes in the past w/out issue, so I'm wondering if I'm doing something very basic wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

    I've found Soliloquy quite good to work with over the years and they offer some good tutorials. Includes both free and premium versions https://soliloquywp.com/demo/

    Thank you,
    That looks great. I'm not ready to buy something yet.
    When I use plugins that require shortcode, for some reason my shortcode isn't working. I'm completely mystified - I don't need to add php code in addition to shortcode, do I?

    Better using a function call.

    What plugin/widget are you referring to?

    Its like a template tag which enables you to display the content like

    soliloquy();

    rather than
