Initially, I was using Mai Life style pro theme. Now I changed it to AgentPress Pro theme. The website seems to be working fine. However, Google analytics has stopped showing any traffic on the site? Since I changed the theme, the site has shown zero traffic on it. That looks strange. Any suggestions on how to handle the issue?

    The site address is https://www.halaljapan.com/

    Thanks and regards

How are you loading the analytics tracking code? If you were loading it in functions.php in the old theme, you have to copy the code over and install it in the theme.

Check the site source code in the browser to make sure the analytics code is installed.

The functions.php does not have the tracking code. Rather I installed Google Analytics plugin and then connected it with the google analytics account. I was able to see the analytics code in the source code. But, even then it is not working.

Changing themes should not remove your Google Analytics code unless you implemented the code directly into the child theme you were using. That method would not be recommended.

I see Monster Insights in that website. I would suggest looking at the plugin to see if it's configured properly.

Thanks Anita for proving me some clue.

Yes, there seems to be no problem with the monster insight set up. Everything is configured properly. Even the monsterinisght internal reporting says that there is zero traffic since January 1. But the Jetpack stats show that I am getting traffic on the site. How strange!! Should I revert to the old theme?

    Thanks

As Victor and I mentioned, the theme should not be the issue UNLESS you've added analytics code to the child theme itself. I think you should do what you think will resolve the issue, especially if you said it worked with the previous theme. But the theme itself would not keep Google Analytics from working.

    Anita, Victor,

Thank you both for clarifying the issue. I was able to resolve it by restoring a previous version of the site when it was working fine.

    Thanks and regards
