    Guys,

Anyone having trouble updating the theme core to version 2.1.3? I'm receiving a Download fail prompt.

Download failed. couldn't connect to host

The site is hosted on BlueHost.

Could it be that Bluehost is blocking the Genesis domain ?

Of course brute forcing it by downloading it via this link

    http://www.genesistheme.com/download/?file=genesis.2.1.3.zip

    gets me this response.

    Nice Try! 😉

Did you have this problem? If yes, how did you fix it.

Thanks! (below is the link to my site)

    This is what I get:

An error occurred while updating Genesis: Download failed. Failed to connect to http://www.genesistheme.com port 80: Connection timed out

Haven't fixed it; cursing doesn't seem to help

I'm unable to update and I'm on BlueHost. I don't even get the message you're showing. But it's clearly timing out. When I try to get back on my blog I get a Maintenance message.

    Ideas?

We are having the same issue with all of our clients. Had to update manually.

Do you update through FTP or the cPanel?

Message from Brian Gardner and Nathan Rice on Studio Press' Twitter Feed that they are correcting the problem and it should be resolved soon. They said to wait a while and try again.

    Just did it. Updated.

I can confirm this is still failing - received error "Downloading update from http://www.genesistheme.com/download/?file=genesis.2.1.3.zip…

Download failed. A valid URL was not provided."

Any idea when this will get resolved for everyone?
    Thanks.

Yes, Bluehost blocked our updates. We worked around it by moving our server to a different IP address.

    Try again in 24 hours.

Otherwise, upgrading via FTP will work.
