Is there a galley plugin that will automatically pull any images from existing or new posts as they added and add them to an existing "Gallery" page under their own category which is the same category as the post?

Perhaps all of them do, but I'm not too familiar with gallery plugins. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thank you!

    Hi,
I like Portfolio Slideshow. You edit your Page/Post, and click the Media button to upload some images. You don't even have to tell it to Insert any of the images, just upload them! Then you put in this shortcode onto your page:

    [portfolio_slideshow]

It will grab all images uploaded to that Page and will display them in a nice slider. It has an admin panel for various features, such as "support for fluid layouts", which is another way of saying "make it responsive".

If you had already uploaded and inserted images into a page, but now you want it in a slideshow, you may want to remove them from the page, or they'll appear both on the page and in the slider.

    Hope that helps, Dave

    Hi David,

Thank you very much for the suggestion, I'll give it a try.

I do want the images to be both on the post that they are uploaded and a few of them that I select also on a gallery page that displays just images with a small caption (ideally a link to that image's post as well if possible). Will Portfolio Slideshow do something like that?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,
It's so hard to recommend galleries and sliders, because the variety is infinite. ๐Ÿ™‚ Based on your specs, I don't think PS will be the way to go.

The plain old WordPress gallery (which you can make on a page using the Media button instead of upload/inserting an image) gives you titles if you want, but no custom links.

This plugin looks like it might do what you want, allow custom links from the gallery. Disclosure: I haven't tested it myself.

In any case, since your question is open-ended, you might want to find a site or scenario you're trying to emulate to get ideas.

    Dave
