MemberHello,
I usually replace the default StudioPress text (return to top, etc.) with custom text via the Genesis Simple Edits plugin - and have done so successfully on a number of Genesis child themes.
However, on the current website I am working on: http://socialmediabonk.com I have NO text in the footer at all. Not even the default Genesis text. I am using Agency Pro on this website.
Any assistance as to why this is happening would be appreciated.
Thank you,
http://socialmediabonk.com

ParticipantHi,
Nice site, that looks like a fun bunch! That's what happens when you get professional photography for your site, as opposed to "my 1st day with the cellphone cam" photos on many sites - hint, hint, site owners. ๐That can't be seen conclusively from the outside, but I've got ideas for you - if you had custom work on the site, there may be code in your functions.php that's pulling that stuff out. Or it could be an edit of your footer.php code.
Good luck!
Dave

MemberThanks David! Yes, it's always fun working with Carolyn and her team. This will be my third redesign of her website http://ckcagency.com and happy that she supports my efforts with professional photography and strong graphic design.
You know it's weird, because I had Genesis Sample installed as a Child Theme before Agency Pro and also had no text in the footer - so I am wondering if it is something in the Parent.. I only recently starting using this URL for testing and development so can't say when it started or if it has always been that way.
I will keep at it. Thanks!

ParticipantNanci,
Sounds good. There are so many ways to alter each aspect of a site. I don't use the Genesis Hooks plugin because writing my own hooks is fun, but if that's installed on your site, there may be a spot in there to play with the footer. Or mabe your copy of the Sample theme has a quiet little function hidden someplace. ๐ And just as you say, I can't imagine doing it, but something in the core install may have been altered by someone.Cheers, Dave

MemberTurns out something in the Genesis Simple Hooks (vs. Genesis Simple Edits) was overriding the footer text. The good folks at StudioPress helped me figure this out. Seems to be working now.
Is a goal of mine to figure more of this out for 2014. ๐
Thanks again for your input.

ParticipantHello, I understand that nancimurdock had her issue resolved, but can the resolution be placed here? I'm having the same problem where the footer widgets are not showing. I typically use Genesis Simple Edits, however, I had not even added the plugin before the issue occurred.
Thanks!
