I'm having problems with my footer. It doesn't accept background-color or any site-footer styling that I've listed in Style.css. If I duplicate the style code in Appearance/customize/additional css, I get the blue background color, however the information text still is not styled. It should be center aligned, white, as the menu is. The information text is not receiving the site-footer style, rather the body style. I've tried removing the menu and other css customizations, however nothing works. Help?

Okay, so I removed the plugin Genesis Simple Edits and it formatted the information text the way I'd like. However, it style doesn't accept the background-color:#1C3F94; unless I include it in Appearance/customize/additional css. What gives?
