I know how to add more footer widgets, but what about below that where the "back to top" and "credits" go? Is there a way to have three columns instead of just the right and left? Or on this site, there's just one centered. How do I adjust the bottom footer elements?

You can add content columns after the footer http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/content-column-classes/

Okay, I'm feeling kind of dumb, but where/how do I add that? I've used columns within content on pages, but am unsure how to modify the footer itself.

Also ... I don't necessarily want to add anything after the footer, but rather change what's there to span 3 columns instead of 2. I'm using the Agency theme.

You can easily add them in the genesis_after_footer Simple Hooks plugin field or to a custom function.

I ended up using the content columns in the Footer Output area in the Simple Edits plugin. Thanks for your help Brad!
