    If you look at the footer on the site I've cited here, you'll see that there are two kinds of lists -- custom menu in one widget, and a category list in another. You'll also see that the items are really widely spaced and with a strange, very tiny bullet. I'd like to (1) close up that space almost completely and (2) put in a custom bullet.

    So I've been experimenting with line height and list style settings css in the childtheme, but I never come anywhere close. I've used Firebug to try to identify the right classes for the css, but without success.

    Any pointers much appreciated.

    Hi,

    Design Palette Pro and your css changes might not play well together.

    If I add line-height: 1 to gppro-custom-1.css
    body.gppro-custom .footer-widgets .widget {, it works in reducing the line-height.

    The tiny bullets come from line 1481 of the style.css:

    .footer-widgets .widget ul > li::before, .sidebar .widget ul > li::before {
        background-color: #E2E8EB;
        border-radius: 50%;
        content: "‣";
        float: left;
        font-size: 10px;
        left: 0px;
        padding: 0px 5px 0px 6px;
        position: absolute;
        top: 2px;
        vertical-align: top;
    }

    But you also started styling it in Design Palette Pro:
    body.gppro-custom .footer-widgets .widget ul > li::before {

    Hi Christoph -- and many thanks, because working with what you gave me, I managed to finagle the lists into shape. I haven't tackled changing the bullet yet, but it looks (maybe) like something I can handle. What I don't understand is why something as simple as a bullet has to be made so complicated. But that's a question nobody can answer.

    You are welcome.
    It looks much nicer already.

    I´m sure you can handle the bullets. 🙂
