Hey Everyone - I just wanted to share that I've created a child theme for Genesis - free - that you might wanna try. This theme isn't going to be for everyone, but I think some of you might really like it. I basically created a bunch of admin pages that let you control just about everything, site structure, footer widgets, colors, font styles, margins, padding, etc. It writes the stylesheet on the fly so it's only writing styles that you specify and it leaves everything else out (for the most part). Plus I threw in a bunch of things like the ability to move menus around, control the filters, and labels of many things. It comes with a landing page, mobile menu options and single page navigation too. I built this theme because I developed a repetitive stress injury and I'm not supposed to be writing code but it turned into a pretty cool theme that should allow anyone to design something nice for themselves. Please feel free to give a try... don't run it on a live site until you know what you're doing tho. There's a learning curve and there are bugs lurking here and there, but it's already quite advanced. I will appreciate help evolving it.

Is Ahjira.com running Flint? Is that the demo when we go to your link? The images of what you developed remind me a little bit of the Suffusion theme.

Yes my site is running Flint, but Flint doesn't have a "design" necessarily. Flint will look how *you* make it look. I have built a skinning system into it but until people are familiar with it, I won't really talk about that piece too much.

Visit the Screenshots page and I think you'll get a glimpse of what it does:

It's more like Prose in that it's a basic design until you set the styles, apply the background images and monkey with the text that you want.

Okay I saw that page. Prose is a BEAST and many people find it pretty challenging in the beginning so I can understand your warning about a learning curve!

Yeah... it's completely intuitive if you know CSS, but might be confusing at first if you don't. I've had a test group of 7 using it for the last three months, only one of whom knows CSS and all of them have done really well. They ask a few questions at first and then seem to run with it after that. They aren't designers though so they're not hitting all the potential. They've done a lot with colors and fonts, but none of them has even touched the potential with background images or skins yet. I'm kind of hoping to get a bigger group involved to explore those lines a bit more.

Looks like a great child theme! Is Flint coming out of BETA anytime soon?
