I've seen this issue a few times. I've checked all my functions.php and other files and can't find any blank lines. I've also disabled plugins and re-validated and I'm not finding any issues with the plugins.

"error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document"

Found this PHP whitespace check tool - anyone ever used it or something similar?
