I'm looking for a way of using the Featured Posts widget to include more than one category at a time. Is there a way of doing this?

I've tried adding the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin, but I can only exclude multiple categories not include multiple. This doesn't work for this setup because posts on this site have numerous different categories and this would exclude things that we don't want to exclude.

Anyone know of another way? Thank you!

You can use the gfwa_query_args filter to modify the default args and include what you want.

    Hi Indigo Bird,

The quickest and simplest way may be to create a parent category that you can nest any amount of categories beneath to show in a particular area. Creating a parent category is the same concept as creating a drop down menu for a top menu item.

Here's an article with more detail: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-categories-and-subcategories-to-wordpress/

Let me know if this helps!
