I purchased the No Sidebar Pro theme and plan to use it on my primary blog (http://www.nevillehobson.com). Currently set up for testing, etc, on a development blog (URL below).

A major issue to me is that of the featured image. With my current StudioPress theme (eleven40 Pro), every post that has an image embedded in the post (almost every post) displays it as I expect it to. Posts also specify a featured image, invariably the same first image embedded in the post that serves the purpose of being displayed by the theme in thumbnail form on the home page. The single post page displays just the embedded image.

With the No Sidebar Pro theme, however, an embedded image is displayed on a single post page as also is the featured image. So, two images are displayed. This is definitely not what I wish to happen.

If I turn off the featured image feature (in the theme settings page), I get only the image embedded in the post. That's fine although it doesn't display the image as large as the featured image setting. But at least I get only one image.

However, I'd prefer to use the featured image setting both for larger image size and position on the page. To do that, I need to delete the embedded image from each post. As my blog has over 3,660 published posts, that's an awful lot of editing.

Is there any other way I can achieve what I want without such painful editing? That's a show stopper, I think. Appreciate any insights, thanks.

I assume the problem is you have 2 featured images displayed on single posts?

You'll find the code in your functions file to Add featured image before loop

You can modify or remove this code.

And, you'll find code in the single.php file in your child theme which adds the featured image based on the Content Archives settings so you can remove this code instead of the code in the functions file.

//* Add featured image before entry header
