    I'm a bit perplexed. I have a Genesis child theme that I created, that is not pulling in the first image in a post/page automatically as a featured image.  It's working this way on the main blog page, or if I am using the Featured Page/Post widget.

    If I manually set the featured image it is working. However, I want my theme to automatically pull in the first image if a featured image is not set.

    I'm missing something, and I'm not sure what it is.

    If it's working on the main blog and in featured lists, where is it not working? Category pages maybe?

    Which child theme are you using?

    Can you provide a link to your site?
