MemberI have built a handful of Genesis sites in the last several weeks, and with all of them, I have made a custom favicon and uploaded to the images file of my theme folder. All the favicons have shown up as they should except for one. The only difference with that one is it's on a different host than the other sites. The question: can the host make a difference in how quickly a change shows up?
Thank you for any help!

MemberLink?
Browsers cache those super aggressively, so it could just be your browser.
You may need to Shift+Refresh or empty your browser cache to see the changes (see http://bit.ly/yo5Dpo).

MemberThank you, nciske. I thought I had cleared cache but maybe not. Thanks for the link on that! And the change did finally show up.
Thanks again.

MemberI am having a much more pernicious problem than my personal favicon not showing up. In fact, it does show up for a while. then reverts back to the G for Genesis favicon. Twice I have gone through the motions and seen my personal favicon appear when I open my webstie. But keeps mysteriously disappearing in favor of G for Genesis. I have even thrown out the Genesis favicon in the Genesis FTP folder, in images. As well as done the same in my Prose theme's images folder. So how the <insert expletive) do I keep the G favicon from reappearing after a week or two? Can anyone explain this?

MemberWhy is this so difficult to change? Does anyone have an "easy" way to change the favicon? I thought I had changed mine two days ago. Perhaps it's taking a long time also.

ParticipantThe link provided by Genwrock did it for me!
I'm using the Genesis Favicon Uploader (even though it scares me because it hasn't been recently updated according to the details)I've usually used a 16x16 favicon. The link said 32x32, so I tried that and SchZAM, it worked!
This was after I had pestered the host due to managed WP hosting and support who claimed they couldn't see the ftp stuff either. I thought about calling support back with the answer, but then....nah. Just let it go.
The plugin is a permanent crutch; you cannot deactivate it or your favicon goes down.

MemberMaybe it's just me, but there are some things I just simply don't want to do with a plugin. This is one of them. I'm not saying others shouldn't use a plugin, I just prefer not to.
My problem initially was that I didn't clear cache but thought I had. I think I was I just trying to move too quickly.
To date, I have never had a problem loading a favicon to a Genesis site, and the one time I did, it was a user error. LOL
For the record, I always make mine 32x32. Works great.
