Client is using StartLogic hosting (ed: ugh) and I had a new site almost complete when I notice that the version of Genesis Sample I was using was old. I updated to the newest 3.0.1 and it broke the site. StartLogics 'support' is insisting that there is a problem with the theme. Nay nay, say I.
But I don't know enough code to get in there and test and fix it. The error message I get on newly installed theme: Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_config() in /hermes/bosnaweb27a/b2808/sl.nellmanycatscom/wp-a100tm/wp-content/themes/genesis-sample/functions.php on line 104
The site is experiencing technical difficulties.
Besides getting them to switch hosts, can anyone offer any insight or advice?
Thanks!!

What does the PHP version say? Make sure it's 5.6.40 or higher, but preferably 7.2 for better performance. If it's set at 5.6.40 you will probably need to upgrade to 7.2.

The error gets even uglier at PHP version 7.0 and above.

I don't speak PHP. Do you have any ideas? Thank you SOO much!
August 14, 2019 at 10:14 am #492981AnitaCKeymasterWhat version were you at previously, and what version did you bump it up to?

August 14, 2019 at 10:15 am #492982AnitaCKeymasterAlso, what is the latest version of Genesis on that website?

August 14, 2019 at 10:43 am #492983CeeInTxParticipantIt was at 5.6. That uglier error message happens at 7.0 and above. Genesis 2.5.2 WordPress version is 5.2.2.
Thanks so much!!
August 14, 2019 at 10:51 am #492985AnitaCKeymasterYou need Genesis 3.0.3. There have been several updates to Genesis so that's the issue.

August 14, 2019 at 3:47 pm #492989CeeInTxParticipantI think you are right. But I thought there would be some kind of notice that the theme needed to be upgraded. And what's more, is, for the first time, I used the WordPress installation in the Control Panel rather than installing manually. Never again... at least without checking!
Thanks for all your help!!
August 14, 2019 at 6:12 pm #492991AnitaCKeymasterSounds like you do not have the Genesis notifications turned on. Go to Genesis > Theme Settings > Updates. Put a check mark in the box and also add your email address. Adding the check mark puts a notification right at the top of the dashboard when there is an update and adding an email address will notify you by email. So it sounds like you haven't done that.
