    Hi,
I just purchased the Essence pro theme and it doesn't work as intended.
First to show the image header I have to remove the feature image in the front page. So now I do have a header but the page doesn't have a featured image when I share it.

Second and most importantly the whole Hero section doesn't appear (that's the main reason why I purchased the theme). I looked for tutorials online but the version sold is different. There are no check boxes to thick in order to activate the section as some suggest. I can see the text and edit it from the customizer but the text never appears in the page even when I hit the save button.

The whole thing is quite disappointing. Any suggestion?

They are moving to block based home pages. Go to your my.studiopress.com account and go through the theme documentation. It works as expected but just differently from the widgetized version.

Thanks Anita. I don't have for example the whole Hero widget section, which is the widget that adds the email opt-in in the header. I did manage to create a similar layout using the blocks but it's not exactly what I want. Even the documentation doesn't match the layout I have. BTW I tried to contact the support. Hope they can help

How are you accessing the widgets area? Are you going to Appearance > Customize? If so, go directly to Appearance > Widgets. This is really confusing people and I will not this down. They will only show up in the customizer if they have been set up.

Yes it's quite confusing and I consider myself an advanced user. I really need to talk with the customer service because there is something wrong with the way the widgets work. If I use an existing page as homepage the layout is messed up. If I use a new created page it's ok. 🤷
Not sure if you are familiar with this particular child theme but for example with an existing page the empty space between the two featured posts at the top of the page is not actually empty but it overlaps (this is ok) and covers (not ok) part of the header. Hard to explain I know but the point is that I noticed a tons of these issues. Never happened with Magazine Pro.

Are you implementing Essence Pro on a completely new website? Did the website have content in it already or is the new content you are creating? And, did you install the demo content for Essence Pro? I've installed it but I am not sure how you are implementing the page content.

Yes it's a well established website. Every time I activate the theme it prompts me to install the demo content. If I do the new homepage works pretty much as expected. If I use any other existing page it doesn't work. If I remove the theme and activate it again and try to use the previously created page I have the same issue so I have to install another demo page.

Then I think you should submit a support ticket.
