    Hi.

I bought the Genesis framework with the Foodie Pro theme last weekend. But unfortunately I can't start designing on it as the "Foodie Pro - Featured Posts" widget, which is the core of the theme, just gives me an error message when trying to change any setting. So in fact I just can't use the widget and therefore the child theme at all.

The error occurs no matter if I use the live preview function or if I really activate the theme on my blog. I also tried using a different browser, cleared the cache, deactivated all plugins, re-installed a backup of the whole blog, re-installed the framework with child theme, etc. pp.

I now checked the console for error messages and this one appears in safari as well as firefox browser:

    (safari version of the error)
[Error] ReferenceError: Can't find variable: wpWidgets
    (anonyme Funktion) (customize.php:2270)

    (firefox version of the error)
ReferenceError: wpWidgets is not defined[Weitere Informationen] customize.php:2270:7

Could this be the problem? And if yes, do you have any ideas on how I could solve this issue?

Thanks for your time and help!
    Andreas

There really isn't enough to go on with what you posted. The term "wpWidgets" does not appear anywhere in the source code for either the Genesis Framework or the Foodie Pro theme. Neither is there a file named "customize.php" in either tool.

I suggest you enable WordPress debug so you can see the stack trace to determine where the PHP error is actually coming from. https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress
