    Hi

I have recently built my basic blog and now want to alert subscribers when new posts are made. eNews Extended is installed and ready to go.

Do I still need to connect Mail Chimp or similar? I have no intention (right now) of sending out newsletters, email marketing etc.

I simply need a subscriber new post alert function and to be able to store subscriber email data safely for the future.

Any comments on what would be my best solution appreciated.

    Thanks
    Nick

I'm not certain this young lady has got the right answer for me.

Can any member of the community offer me some guidance?

    Thank you.

Yes, you still need a mailing list subscription service of some sort.

The eNews widget does nothing on its own but provides an easy method to insert your mailing list details, and consistent design elements for the theme devs to style.

    Many thanks Andrea.

Is there any consensus as to which subscription service is optimal for Genesis Framework or are they all much of a muchness?

    Thanks

The theme you use has no relation to whatever mailing list you have signed up for.

The theme only shows the signup box. The functionality never interacts with your theme. Pick one that has the features you like.
