    Hallo everyone.

    I am on Genesis and Enterprise Pro.

    What I miss is emoji support, I can insert them while writing but when I get to view the post a question mark or two are showed instead.

    I use many emojis into my text creation workflow so that I would like to be able to use them into wordpress as well.

    I don't know is this is a theme related issue or not, but I thought I could ask anyway, you tell me if I am wrong or not.

    Thank you so much.

    You can do that with a plugin. Check the plugin repository to see what might work best for you.

    Thank you, but I already tried that with no joy.

    I guess that those plugins just add a menu to the editor to add emojis, while my issue seems to be more a rendering or encoding one.

    Any other hint?

    Thank you.

    Looks like they removed the "smilies" in 4.3. They recommendeded that you could use this plugin to keep emoticons as text. It's only one line of code which is set to false. If you add this line of code to your functions (I changed false to true) the smilies, as they call them, will appear when published. They may still show up in the editor, but I think that's based on the theme you are using. I added it to a test site and it works for me.

    add_filter( 'option_use_smilies', '__return_true' );

    Thank you, but emoticon are different from emojis.

    Emoticons, or smilies, do work on my blog, while emojis do not.

    they talk about emojis as if they were supported out of the box from WordPress, so I suspect there is something into my theme or dababase encoding or else sending them out of whack...

    Thank you.

    I'm not familiar with that. That's new to me. It gives instructions on how to use them on desktop and mobile. If they are not working for you, probably post on the WordPress Forum. You'll probably get a better response there.
